Mandatory placement
Student placement is becoming an increasingly important stepping stone for students after graduation when entering the labour market. At placement, students have the opportunity to gain other skills besides knowledge, which are often decisive when looking for a first job. At placement, students can learn how to use theoretical knowledge in practical situations. They acquire working habits, learn to work in groups, to communicate with co-workers, group leaders and management staff. They also gain experience working with clients. The placement is useful also for the development of a student’s personal qualities and skills. The student performs actual tasks in individual areas or jobs under supervision and thus acquires the possibility of using theoretical knowledge in specific administrative matters.
The aim of the placement is for the student to upgrade their theoretical knowledge with a practical aspect and thus gain a comprehensive insight into the operation of the selected organization.
During the compulsory placement, the student gets to know the organization, gets acquainted with the problem to be solved during the placement, and the method of consulting with a mentor in the organization, consulting with a mentor at the faculty on a professional problem, presenting a solution to the problem at the faculty and in the organization, as well as possibilities for implementation and recommendations for further work. The aim of the placement is to acquaint students with a specific practice and a specific work environment, to teach the student to deal with and solve problems in a real environment and to improve the acquired competencies during their studies.
